Hello
My name is Naomi, and my life has always revolved around animals.
I often say I was the pony mad child who never grew out of that phase. I still get excited when I drive past a field of horses. I feel a sense of peace when I see their breath on a frosty, sunny morning. And I can never get enough of THAT horse smell.
I have spent my whole adult life as a horsemanship trainer and instructor, and more recently bodyworker.
I've always loved dogs, too, although I didn't have my own growing up. I always took any opportunity to walk them for friends, and later ran a dog sitting and walking business. In 2023 a little Jack Russell x Daschund called Blue waddled into my life and he has become such a wonderful companion and sidekick. I can't imagine life without that funny little dog now. My favourite thing about him is the unconditional love, it doesn't matter what sort of day I've had, what I look like or how I feel, Blue is there waiting to tell me how wonderful he thinks I am.
I've always had a quiet desire to be behind a camera. I've been in front of it, a lot, but there's something about creating a beautiful image to be enjoyed for years to come that feels so good. I still look back at photographs of my animals from decades ago and smile, feeling all the warm fuzzies that I felt when it was taken.
I had a big life shake up in 2024, leaving the horse training world and deciding to build my equine bodywork business instead. This gave me extra time that I hadn't had before, and I decided to buy a camera. My boys Ginger and Blue were willing participants for me to get used to all the settings and styles, as were my friends and their animals!
My goal is to capture the natural beauty of horses and dogs. The individual personalities, the relationship between them and their owners. I have also recently ventured into event photography, which I really enjoy.
